Modern HD TVs are capable of extraordinary performance when properly calibrated. Out of the box, consumer TVs are setup to “sparkle” on the showroom floor. While this technique is effective for selling TVs, the image projected is neither accurate nor in compliance with the video standards used to create the program material, and can be stressful on the eye.

The good news is that displays can be optimized with proper setup and calibration.
